Sound Advice at the IGDA

IGDA International Game Developers Association Logo

The Toronto IGDA recently held a meeting on game audio - making games sound as good as they look and play.

I was pleased to receive an invitation to speak. I put together a short developer-focused presentation on getting the most out of your game audio. You can take a look at the Planning for Good Audio presentation, or download the PDF version (but you will miss out on the fun animations and videos).

This session also featured great local audio designers Shaun Hatton (They Bleed Pixels), Troy Morrissey (D.A.R.C. Productions), Ryan Henwood (Rock Band), and Matthew Reid (Seraph). They shared best practices, techniques and ways in which audio can enhance gameplay.

Thanks to the Toronto group for putting their attention to audio for a night, and inviting me back for another presentation!
